Please refresh your results for active cases
This release includes a technical update, so if you have any existing cases in progress, we recommend clicking the Start solve button again for any scenarios where you created results on or before the release on 4 March 2021. This will ensure that all your scenarios are consistent. Note that the numbers in your results may change when you re-solve, but it is better to be consistent across scenarios. If you are unsure when your results were created, see How to check when your results were created.
Technical updates
Technical updates are applied to all cases, so it is strongly recommended you resolve all scenarios in any active cases to refresh the results, and make sure all scenarios are using the same technical details.
Update to CPI and AWOTE
The CPI for the December 2020 quarter was released, so this has been updated in Pathfinder. The new CPI values are:
Year | Value |
---|---|
2019/20 | 0.861 (previously 0.5) |
2020/21 | 1.5 |
2021/22 | 1.5 |
2022/23 | 2.0 |
2023/24 onwards | 2.5 |
The new AWOTE values are:
Year | Value |
---|---|
2019/20 | 3.208 (previously 1.25) |
2020/21 | 2 |
2021/22 | 2 |
2022/23 | 2 |
2023/24 onwards | 3 |
General Transfer balance cap now projected to increase in 1 July 2021
For the CPI, the December 2020 quarter value came in a littler higher than expected, so in Pathfinder the General Transfer Balance Cap is now projected to increase to $1.7m at July 2021 (ie 2021/22). Whereas, under the previous assumptions, the CPI was lower, and the cap was projected to increase later.
Concessional and non-concessional contributions caps now projected to increase in 1 July 2021
The value for AWOTE for the December quarter 2020 means that in Pathfinder's projections, in 2020/21:
The concessional contribution cap will increase from $25,000 to $27,500 on 1 July 2021
The non-concessional cap will increase to $110,000 (i.e. $27,500 x 4 = ) on 1 July 2021
In your case's results, you can see these values in the detailed reports: Results (top menu) > Detailed reports > Individual (left menu) > Cash flows > Super deposits summary
Performance improvements to reduce solve errors
This release also includes some fixes to improve Pathfinder's performance so you should be encountering fewer 'Solve failed' and 'Oops' errors.
