Getting started with Plannerpad and Optimo Pathfinder

Overview of steps:

  • Set up your log ins
  • Enter data in Planner pad
  • Upload your data to Pathfinder
  • Do your analysis in Pathfinder

StepWhich applicationHow to do it
1Make sure you have logins for Plannerpad and PathfinderSee details in next column.
  • If you already have a log in for one platform, it's a good idea to register with the same email in the other platform
  • Your log ins for each platform are separate, so if you change your password in one, it won't update in the other.

If you do not have a log in for either platform:

  1. You can create log in for both platforms here: https://app.optimopathfinder.com.au/Account/Registrations
  2. You will receive an email to activate your log in, so follow the prompts to activate your accounts
  3. Once you have registered, you will have:
    1. A free 30-day trial with Plannerpad
    2. A free case in Optimo Pathfinder (but DO NOT click the 'Add new case' button, yet, because you'll add it when you upload data from Plannerpad)

If you have a Plannerpad log in, but not a Pathfinder one:

  1. You can create a login for Pathfinder here: https://app.optimopathfinder.com.au/Account/Register
    1. It is recommended you register with the same email you use for Plannerpad
  2. In Pathfinder, your first case is free:
    1. If you want to try uploading data from Plannerpad to Pathfinder, DO NOT click the 'Add new case' button in Pathfinder, yet. Follow the steps below to learn how to upload data from Plannerpad
    2. If you just want to try Pathfinder by itself, then you can click the 'Add new case' button to add your free trial and get started (for more, see the Getting Started Guide.
  3. You do not need to do anything with your Plannerpad log in at this step.

If you have a Pathfinder log in, but not a Plannerpad one:

  1. Register for a free 30-day trial of Plannerpad here: https://secure.plannerpad.com.au/auth/register
    1. It is recommended you register with the same email you use for Pathfinder
  2. You do not need to do anything with your Pathfinder log in at this step
2Enter your case data in PlannerpadPlannerpad

You have a few options for entering data:

  • You can enter the data yourself
  • You can send a link to your clients and they can fill in their own data
  • If you have been using Plannerpad for a while, you can select a case you already have
  • If you are familiar with Pathfinder and new to Plannerpad, you may find it helpful to review the Mapping of Plannerpad fields to Optimo Pathfinder fields

For more information about entering data in Plannerpad, see the help menu in the header of Plannerpad.

3Review your data in PlannerpadPlannerpadBefore you upload data to Pathfinder, it is a good idea to ensure your data is complete and correct in Plannerpad, because if you need to make adjustments after uploading data to Pathfinder, you will need to adjust it in both applications.

  1. In Plannerpad, on the left menu, click Upload to Pathfinder
  2. On the Upload to application screen, click the Upload to Pathfinder button

    1. If you have a free trial available, it will add your free case
    2. If you have a subscription, or you have just purchased a single case, it will add a case.
    3. If you have no free trial and no paid cases or subscription, you will be directed to a payment page where you can choose your options and pay online with a credit card.  After you have you paid for your case or subscription, you can try uploading the data again.
  5. Once you see a message confirming you data has been transferred, you can continue to Pathfinder.
